Stella Johnson

Stella was born on August 11th, 1897 in Maryland (MD).¹

Birth Notes
- The 1900 US census shows that Stella was Samuel's grandaughter, born 1872 (aged 27). Later (1910) she is shown as a foster daughter.

Stella's father was (John) William Johnson and her mother was Ellen Nora Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Cowley Mather and Elizabeth Cooper. She had three brothers and a sister, named James, John, William and Hannah. She was the third oldest of the five known children. She had a half-brother named Charles. She died at the age of 33 on August 18th, 1930.

  The 1900 US census shows that Stella was Samuel's grandaughter, born Aug 1897 (aged 2). Later (1910) Stella Johnson is shown as a foster daughter (aged 12).
  
  In 1900, Ellen N Johnson (27) and her 3 children Hannah E (7), Albert (4) and Stella (2) were living with Ellen's parents Samuel and Elizabeth Mather at Baltimore.
  
  On Wed 6 Aug 1924, William A Watkins and Miss Marguerite Stella Johnson were married in Aberdeen, Harford County, by Rev William Piperpont.
