Ellen was born on September 2nd, 1872 in Baltimore County.1 Ellen's father was Samuel Cowley Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Cooper. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Helen (Ellen) Cunliffe. She had four brothers and three sisters, named David, John, Samuel, Harrison, Ida, Annie and Viola. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 76 on July 26th, 1949 in Maryland (MD).1 Death Notes
