Henry's father was Jonathan Isherwood and his mother was Margaret Bentley. His paternal grandparents were William Isherwood and Mary Hardman. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named William, Lawrence, Jonathan, Jane, Mary, Ann, Sarah, Margaret, Selina, Rachel, Louisa and Martha. He was the tenth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 83 on May 26th, 1942 in Oregon (OR).²
