Edmund was born in 1692 in Darwen and his baptism took place on November 13th, 1692 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Blackburn).1 2 Birth Notes
John Birchall's website provides great insight into Edmund Howarth Yeoman, Chapman and perhaps the industralist, but may contain some serious errors. He has his birth as 1704 and death as 1759, so its unlikely he married Catherine Pickering (b.1713) as their marriage is recorded at Blackburn in 1716 and William's 1723 baptism records both parents names.

Edmund, son of John Howarth of Lower Darwen was baptised 13 Nov 1692. There is another Edmund, born 1702, son of Giles who may be confused with the Edmund. Both lived in Lower Darwen.
Death Notes
Edmund did not died in 1759. That was another, a Chapman (i.e. a pedlar).
General Notes
The "Howarths of Thurcroft" and other articles have Edmund marrying Ann. However, it seems they had their Edminds mixed up and this Edmund married Catherine. Baptism records show it was a 10y younger Edmund, son of Giles that married Ann in 1721 (and had sons Edmund and Giles).
6 Jan 1714, this Edmund married Catherine Pickering.
1735, Edmund is shown a Yeoman on Alice's burial and when Jane was baptised in 1736, and also later, a husbandman.
3 May 1737, Edmund Haworth of Lower Darwen married Margaret Wigglesworth of Pleasington after publication (of Banns).

Early, both men were weavers.
Both Edmunds lived in Little Darwen, in 1837 one a weaver and the other a husbandman.
On the 27 May 1739, both Edmunds had their daughters baptised (Ann and Mary) at Blackburn.
Edmund and Edmund Howarth knew each other.
