James Hopley

James was born in November 1778 in Shocklach and his baptism took place on November 22nd, 1778 at All Saints, Harthill.¹

James' father was John Hopley and his mother was Anne Morgan.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Catherine Lewis. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, John, Ann, Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and Catherine.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 90 in March 1869 in Hampton.  He was buried on March 8th, 1869 in Malpas.²
