Ann was born in 1780 and her baptism took place on November 5th, 1780 in Shocklach.¹

Ann's father was John Hopley and her mother was Anne Morgan. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Catherine Lewis. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Samuel, John, Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and Catherine. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died in 1780.
