Elizabeth's father was Abraham Heapy and her mother was Catherine Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Martha (Matty) Ramsden. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Abraham, Samuel, Samuel, Sarah, Martha, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Samuel were twins. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, George, Ann and Sarah.
