George's father was Abraham Heapy and his mother was Sarah Firth. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Ann and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Abraham, Samuel, Samuel, Sarah, Martha, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Elizabeth.
