Amos Greenhalgh

Amos was born on March 31st, 1861 in Entwistle and his baptism took place on September 7th, 1862 at St. Anne (Turton).¹²

Amos' father was Abraham Mather and his mother was Jane Greenhalgh. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Martha Kay. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Sarah and Nancy. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 84 on December 21st, 1945 in Horwich.³
