Sarah's father was Amos Greenhalgh and her mother was Dorothy Meadowcroft. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Mather and Jane Greenhalgh. She had a brother and a sister, named Frank and Jane. She was the youngest of the three children. She died at the age of 77 on April 7th, 1970 in Darwen. Her burial was in April 1970 at St. Anne (Turton).²²
