John James Mather

John was born in 1865 in Entwistle and his baptism took place on October 22nd, 1865 at St. Anne (Turton).¹²

John's father was Abraham Mather and his mother was Jane Greenhalgh. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Martha Kay. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Amos, William, Sarah and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 71 on November 9th, 1936 in Lancashire.³
