Birth Notes

Shirley's father was Thomas Francis Gorden and her mother was Lydia Mary Sherlock. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Sherlock and Mary Ann Quigley. She had a brother and a sister, named Vincent and Mary. She was the second oldest of the three children.
