George Gledhill

George was born in 1850 in Almondbury.¹

- Aged 1 in 1851

George's father was William Gledhill and his mother was Mary Boothroyd. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Boothroyd and Esther Stocks. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Mary and Esther. He was the youngest of the six children.

  In 1861 George was 11 and a Butchers Boy (i.e. apprentice) with his uncle.
