Esther Gledhill

Esther was born in 1845 in Almondbury.¹

Esther's father was William Gledhill and her mother was Mary Boothroyd. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Boothroyd and Esther Stocks. She had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph, John, Thomas, George and Mary. She was the fifth oldest of the six children.

- In 1861, Esther, 16 lived with her uncle Joseph and Sarah Smith at the Butchers in Honley.
