Edward's father was John Entwistle and his mother was Rachel Mather.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph Entwistle and Nancy Entwistle; his maternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Hannah Knowles. He had two half-brothers named Thomas and William.  He was adopted by Ralph Entwistle & Catherine Thompson.  He died at the age of 75 on October 3rd, 1911 in New York (NY).
