John was born on July 2nd, 1888 in Newton Heath.¹

  Most probably Newton Heath, as both births on either side are from there.
  The 1939 recister confirms John Henry and DOB as 2 July 1888.

John's father was Henry Doxey and his mother was Mary Ann Dooley. His paternal grandparents were John Doxey and Sarah Worthington; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Dooley and Bridget Costello. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Frank, Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, Clara and Florence. He was the fifth oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Walter. He died at the age of 69 on July 7th, 1957. His burial was in Manchester.²²

- Sue remembers looking at their Grave and noteing that Granddad John Henry died 7th July and her Father 9th July (but years later in 1973), so buried in same grave.

      A big detached house next to the main gates of the big park there named Brookdale Park. Sue's only memory of it was the Hallway. It was a bit like the Bronte Vicarage at Haworth, with rooms either side of the hall. It was demolished by the Council as it also had a big garden and the council wanted it for the park (or so they said).
