Florence's father was Henry Doxey and her mother was Mary Ann Dooley.  Her paternal grandparents were John Doxey and Sarah Worthington; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Dooley and Bridget Costello. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Frank, Joseph, John, Sarah, Hannah and Clara.  She was the youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named Walter.  She died at the age of 18 in September 1915 in Prestwich.²
