Stephen Crosland

Stephen was born in 1750 in Butternab and his baptism took place on January 9th, 1750 in Honley conducted by Vicar Edward Rishton.¹

Stephen's father was John Crosland Jnr and his mother was Ellen Firth.  His paternal grandparents were John Crosland Snr and Anne Royd. He had two brothers named James and Charles.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had four half-brothers named William, Joseph, Jonathan and Thomas.  He died at the age of 1 in December 1751 in Honley.  He was buried on December 25th, 1751 in Almondbury.²
