Clara was born in December 1857 in Lindley.1  Clara's father was John Crosland and her mother was Mary Davison.  Her paternal grandparents were Ard Crosland and Phoebe Drake. She had four brothers and a sister, named Joel, Sam, Tom, Luther and Phoebe.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, Lewis, Lucy and Ann.  She died at 11 months old in November 1858 in Lindley.1
