Amelia was born on June 14th, 1865 in Cowpe and her baptism took place there on October 8th, 1865.¹²

Amelia's father was Abraham Collings and her mother was Sarah Ann Asten. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Collins and Ann Mather. She had a brother and three sisters, named Ephriam, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah. She was the fourth oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 81 in September 1946 in Haslingden.³
