In Mar 1803, Edmund Mather (or Madder), Newhouse, Rossendale died and was buried as Haslingden. 4 days earlier, Betty, daughter of Abraham Mather of Newhouse was also buried.
There was also an Edmund Mather (1796-1830) from Rossendale which is assumed to be his son, or this is simply another family from Rossendale (possibly a son of Robert from Brindle).
Edmund and
Melicent were married in a religious ceremony on March 19th, 1796 at
St. James (Haslingden) by Curate James Quarkley and witnessed by John Heys & Thomas Wilding.
