Ann was born about 1800 at Lower Booths and lived in Rossendale. There are no Mathers in Rossendlae in 1841 (and 76 Collings's). She is probably the daughter of Edmund Mather of Lower Booths who married Melicent Ashworth in 1796.
In 1823, Abraham was a dyer when he married Ann Mather at Bury.
In 1841, Abraham and Ann Collings (38 & 40) were at Cowpe, Rossendale, Bury with Elizabeth (15), Abraham (14) and Mary Ann (13).
