Melicent Ashworth was baptised in 1774, the daughter of "Jhn" and Betty Ashworth of Blacklayn Head Hennards.
In 1796, Melicent married Edmund Madder (or Mather) of Lower Booths at Haslingden.
In 1803, Edmund died and in 1806 Melicent of Lower Booths married Thomas Howarth at Haslingden.
Melicent and Edmund were married in a religious ceremony on March 19th, 1796 at St. James (Haslingden) by Curate James Quarkley and witnessed by John Heys & Thomas Wilding.4
