Birth Notes

John's father was James Clough and his mother was Sarah Mather. His maternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Brabin. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, Richard, Thomas, Samuel, Joseph, Robert, Ann and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the ten children.
