Helen was born on November 7th, 1912 in Maryland (MD). Helen's father was Franklin William Brooks and her mother was Annie Elizabeth Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Cowley Mather and Elizabeth Cooper. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Arthur, Walter, Lawrence, Howard, Bertha, Margaret and Emma. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 79 in February 1992.
