Clara was born in June 1867 in Tattenhall.1  Clara's father was John Brereton and her mother was Mary Ann Lea.  Her paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Elizabeth Boote; her maternal grandparents were William Lea and Catherine Sadler. She had two sisters named Emily and Rosa.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 79 on March 2nd, 1947.  She was buried at All Saints, Harthill.1
