Ann was born in May 1771 in Acton by Nantwich and her baptism took place there on May 12th, 1771.1  Ann's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Hannah Vicars.  Her paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Maria (Mary) Blackmore. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Randle, Thomas, George, John, George, Elizabeth, Betty, Hannah, Sarah, Frances, Catherine and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the thirteen known children.  She died at the age of 95 in March 1867 in Great Budworth.2

‌Ann and Ralph were married in a religious ceremony on February 28th, 1795 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).3
