William Booth

William was born on November 29th, 1810 in Breightmet and his baptism took place on June 14th, 1811 at Ridgway Gates Wesleyan.¹²

William's father was Thomas Booth and his mother was Alice Scowcroft. His paternal grandparents were Richard Booth and Catherine Whalley. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Catherine, Martha, Mary and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 66 in 1876.
