Mary was born in 1822 in Breightmet and her baptism took place on May 31st, 1822 in Bridge Street Chapel (Methodist).¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was Thomas Booth and her mother was Alice Scowcroft. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Booth and Catherine Whalley. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Catherine, Martha and Margaret. She was the second youngest of the six children.
