Martha was born in 1818 in Breightmet and her baptism took place on December 30th, 1818 in Bridge Street Chapel (Methodist).¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was Thomas Booth and her mother was Alice Scowcroft. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Booth and Catherine Whalley. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Catherine, Mary and Margaret. She was the third youngest of the six children.
