Peter Booth

Peter was born on February 5th, 1797 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on February 5th, 1797 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Peter's father was John Booth and his mother was Alice Lomax. His maternal grandparents were James Lomax and Mary Taylor. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Josiah, John, Robert, Richard, James, Elizabeth and Alice. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 75 in March 1872 in Bolton.²

  18 Oct 1852, a Peter Booth, Widower of Breightmet, son of John Booth married Sarah Twist. This is another Sarah as both Peter and his father were painters.
  
  6 March 1859, Peter Booth, Bleacher & Widower of Little Bolton married Sarah Knowles, spinster.
  
  In 1861, Peter and Sarah (64 & 41) are at 54 Lark Street, Little Bolton with two step-sons, Samuel and Thomas Knowles (15 & 9).
  
  In 1871, Peter and Sarah (77 & 55) still had Thomas (17) with them at 54 Lark Street.
