James Allen

James' father was John Allen and his mother was Sarah Lever.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Allen and Sarah Carter. He had five brothers and a sister, named Richard, John, Ottowell, Joseph, Robert and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James, Alice and Agnes.  He died at the age of 69 in December 1929 in Bolton.²

‌James and Martha were married in a religious ceremony on March 18th, 1882 in Bolton witnessed by Joseph Allen and Sarah Hughes.
