Albert was born in 1898 in Bolton.1  Albert's father was Joseph Allen and his mother was Agnes Gregson.  His paternal grandparents were John Allen and Ellen Crank. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Richard, Thomas, John, Sydney, Martha, Mary, Agnes and Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 25 in 1923 in Bolton.  He was buried in 1923 at the Heaton Cemetery.2 1
