William Roberts 
William was born in 1774 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 William's father was Thomas Roberts and his mother was Sarah Joyce. His paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Elizabeth Lightfoot. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Henry, Richard, James, John, Thomas Jefferson, Margaret, Elizabeth, Nancy, Matilda, Susan and Sarah Anne. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 27 in 1801.1 General Notes
