Martha Jane Tate 
Martha Jane was born on May 27th, 1855.1 Martha Jane's father was George Washington Tate and her mother was Rachel Whitaker. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Nelson Tate and Mary "Polly" Squires; her maternal grandparents were John Whitaker and Martha "Patsy" Stevens. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John Lannes, Samuel Whitaker, George Thomas, James Richard, William Levi, Mary Emma, Rebecca Ann, Margaret Katherine, Rachel Elizabeth and Frances Lavina. She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 35 on June 12th, 1890.1 -
