James Richard Tate 
James Richard was born on July 29th, 1874.1 James Richard's father was George Washington Tate and his mother was Rachel Whitaker. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Nelson Tate and Mary "Polly" Squires; his maternal grandparents were John Whitaker and Martha "Patsy" Stevens. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John Lannes, Samuel Whitaker, George Thomas, William Levi, Martha Jane, Mary Emma, Rebecca Ann, Margaret Katherine, Rachel Elizabeth and Frances Lavina. He was the second youngest of the eleven children.1 -
