George Thomas Tate 
George Thomas was born on March 17th, 1870.1 George Thomas' father was George Washington Tate and his mother was Rachel Whitaker. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Nelson Tate and Mary "Polly" Squires; his maternal grandparents were John Whitaker and Martha "Patsy" Stevens. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John Lannes, Samuel Whitaker, James Richard, William Levi, Martha Jane, Mary Emma, Rebecca Ann, Margaret Katherine, Rachel Elizabeth and Frances Lavina. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.1 -
