Carl C. was born on December 30th, 1893 in Screven Co., GA.1 Carl C.'s father was Robert L. Poythress and his mother was Evalina Evans. His maternal grandparents were John Ruel Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Lucas. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert L., Uhlma and Lucille. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John Willie, Mell, Mark, Joseph Ernest, Ernest E., Eva Jane and Agnes M.. He died at the age of 80 on November 29th, 1974.1 General Notes
