Eva Jane was born on March 22nd, 1878 in Screven Co., GA.1 Eva Jane's father was James J. Downing and her mother was Evalina Evans. Her maternal grandparents were John Ruel Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Lucas. She had five brothers and a sister, named John Willie, Mell, Mark, Joseph Ernest, Ernest E. and Agnes M.. She was the oldest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert L., Carl C., Uhlma and Lucille. She died at the age of 1 on May 20th, 1879 in Screven Co., GA.1 General Notes
