Ernest E. was born on February 22nd, 1887 in Screven Co., GA.1 Ernest E.'s father was James J. Downing and his mother was Evalina Evans. His maternal grandparents were John Ruel Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Lucas. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John Willie, Mell, Mark, Joseph Ernest, Eva Jane and Agnes M.. He was the youngest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert L., Carl C., Uhlma and Lucille. He died at the age of 66 on February 21st, 1954.
