Alexander C. Mew 
Alexander C. was born about 1826 in Beaufort Dist., SC.1 Alexander C.'s father was Macamee Mew and his mother was Ann Rutledge Smith. His paternal grandfather was Philip Mew; his maternal grandparents were James Smith and Margaret Moore Sanders. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel K., Henry, John Pringle, Abraham, Sarah Ann, Mary Margaret, Harriet Elizabeth and Rebecca. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died on August 21st, 1864 in Petersburg, Prince George Co, VA.1 General Notes
