Mary Ellen was born on March 1st, 1856 in Bucyrus, OH.1 Mary Ellen's father was John Messner and her mother was Margaret Catherine Gardner. Her paternal grandparents were Christian Messner and Eleanora; her maternal grandparents were James Gardiner and Mary McGinnis. She had a brother and five sisters, named Joseph John, Martha, Ida Belle, Margaret Jean, Harriet Dora and Jessie Jane. She was the oldest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named Thomas William. She died due to Mitril heart disease at the age of 70 on July 8th, 1926 in Bucyrus, OH. She was buried on July 8th, 1926 in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus, OH.1 1 -
