James W. Evans 
James W. was born on March 2nd, 1826 in Screven Co., GA.1 James W.'s father was Hezekiah Evans and his mother was Sarah Moore. His paternal grandparents were Reuel Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Slater; his maternal grandparents were John Moore and Marcia McCall. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Ruel, Hezekiah Charles, George King, Thomas Jefferson, Martha Elizabeth, Sarah Marcia Lucretia and Mary Ann L.. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 70 on February 16th, 1897.1 General Notes
