Ellen Powell 
Ellen was born in 1813 in Upperville, Virginia, USA.1 Ellen's father was Cuthbert Powell and her mother was Catherine Simms. Her paternal grandparents were Levin Powell and Sally Harrison; her maternal grandparents were Charles Simms and Nancy Douglas. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Llewellyn, Charles Leven, Cuthbert, John Simms, Ann, Mary Emily, Jane Simms and Frances. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 49 in 1862 in Loudon, Virginia, USA.1 -
