Cuthbert Powell 
Cuthbert was born on March 4th, 1775 in Alexandria, VA.1 Cuthbert's father was Levin Powell and his mother was Sally Harrison. His paternal grandparents were William Powell and Eleanor Peyton; his maternal grandfather was Burr Harrison. He had two brothers named William Harrison and Levin Jr. He was the youngest of the three children. He had three half-sisters named Anne, Jane and Sarah. He died at the age of 74 on March 8th, 1849 in Middleburg, Loudoun, VA, Llangollen. He was buried in 1849 in private cemetery on his estate, Llangollen,Loudoun County, Va..1 General Notes

POWELL, Cuthbert, (son of Levin Powell), a Representative from Virginia; born in Alexandria, Va., March 4, 1775; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced in Alexandria; mayor of Alexandria; moved to Loudoun County; engaged in agricultural pursuits; held various local offices; served in the State senate 1815-1819; member of the State house of delegates in 1828 and 1829; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-seventh Congress (March 4, 1841-March 3, 1843); died in “Llangollen,” Loudoun County, Va., May 8, 1849; interment in the private cemetery on his estate, “Llangollen,” in Loudoun County, Va.
