Karl Wilhelm von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld 
Karl Wilhelm was born in 1734. Karl Wilhelm's father was Wilhelm von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld and his mother was Charlotte von Anhalt-Bernburg. His paternal grandparents were Philipp von Hessen-Philippsthal and Katharine Amalie von Solms-Laubach. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named Wilhelm, Friedrich, Philipp, Georg, Christian, Ludwig Friedri, Adolf, August, Charlotte, Johanna Charlo, Karoline, Ulrike Eleonor, Anne and Dorothea. He was the eighth oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 30 in 1764.
