Jane Amanda was born on March 21st, 1844 in S. Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Jane Amanda's father was Stephen Troxell and her mother was Esther Mickley. Her paternal grandparents were John Troxell and Elizabeth Hittle. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Isaac Benjamin, Adam John Peter, Clinton Tilghman Martin, Allen Johnson, Daniel Joseph, Matthias Silas, Sabina, Walter N. and Elemina Louise.
