John Franklin Spence 
John Franklin was born in 1832 in Perry Co., AL. John Franklin's father was Alexander Spence and his mother was Ellender Hobson. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Hobson and Judy Murphy. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Samuel Hobson, William N., Moses Foster, Weldon T., Judith Emaline, Rosannah `Rose` B., Elizabeth Martha, Willie Ann, Martha J. Elizabeth, Letha E. and Susan Frances. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 84 on July 25th, 1916 in Tremont, Itawamba Co., MS.General Notes
