David Hugh was born on August 4th, 1806 in Wilkes Co., NC. David Hugh's father was David Hugh Michael and his mother was Lucinda Doty. His paternal grandfather was Christian Michael and his paternal grandmother is Maria Barbara Eisenhauer. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Moses Loren, Hannah, Sarah, Lucinda and Rebecca. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
