Rufus Hampton

Rufus was born in 1829 in Wilkes Co., NC. Rufus' father was Micajah Hampton and his mother was Hannah Mikels. His maternal grandparents were David Hugh Michael and Lucinda Doty. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Turner, David, Noah, John, Silas, Lorenzo, Romulus Augustus, William and Mary. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 85 in 1914 in Johnson Co., MO.
